Steel

The theme of the second semester was steel. Our plot is on a winery in Nyon in Switzerland where the owner wanted a space where the customers can taste the wine and, if they want to, stay for the night. 

The concept is a building that is situated in the vineyard itself so that it is integrated with the landscape and the guests can interact with the surroundings. But the floor arrangement should not show on the outside, so that the building remains a secret. Since the highway is close by, it should be a building which attracts attention and makes people want to come and visit. The building sits on a base. Before entering the building, you must walk along the grapevines and thus see where the wine comes from. Inside the building, the first floor is where the sleeping rooms and the restrooms are located. When you enter the distribution space, you have a connection to the upper main room, which allows the sunlight to get in. In the rooms the windows are inclined. On the second floor, where the main events take place, the windows are inclined as well, drawing the viewer's attention to the vineyards below. The interior is minimalistic. It is a big hall with a bar, tables and bar tables. As you go up to the third and last floor the view changes. In this room there is a lounge with a fantastic view on the landscape and the starry sky at night.
